On 09.09.2014, around 20:30 local, the waste disposal plant of the company Organo Fluid in Ritterhude near Bremen, suffered a violent explosion for causes still to be determined. 300 firemen extinguished the fire. The powerful expansive pressure wave affected more than 40 surrounding houses: blown glasses, torn roofs… some of their neighbors needed several days to have the green light to return. Toxic asbestos and other chemicals were monitored. The aftermath shows the violence of the explosion.
